A simple application that transforms documents in the three most widely used MS Office formats into high-quality PDFs. Each of these types of files requires specific conversion techniques to create accurate representations of any of the possible elements that they may include (text, tables, images, cells, graphs, etc.). The resulting PDF files faithfully represent all of these elements, not only as individual objects but also as part of a specific layout.
The program has been designed to batch-convert any given mixture of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files in just one go. MS files supported include not only the original DOC, XLS, and PPT files, but also their newer versions from 2007 (those based on XML, like DOCX, or macro-enabled documents, such as XLSM). Of course, RTF files are also supported.
The tool itself offers a stylish interface with clear and large buttons for easier interaction. It includes some advanced settings to allow you to decide which type of PDF file you require – an image-based kind of file, or a text-based one. To any of these you can add your own user and owner passwords. An important set of settings deal directly with the size and the margins of the PDF page, and unless you are converting straight A4-sized pages with wide enough margins, you will probably need to adjust these settings a few times until you come up with the right PDF file. Input documents with large pages and/or landscape orientations are likely to require some extra preparation time.
